Woodland Themed Baby Shower

I'm so excited to be back in the world of blogging.  I know it's been awhile since I've posted.  Chasing a little muchinkin, working, and taking care of a household has made my life a little hectic.  I've been creating and crafting, just not blogging about it.  So, now that summer's here and things have slowed down for us, especially because our little girl is a little bit older,  I hope to post all the fun and crafty things I've been working on.

So, Woodland theme baby showers have been the bees knees as of late.  Just pinterest it and you'll see a ton of stuff.  My good friend's daughter had a baby last year and we threw her a Woodland themed shower.  Below you'll find some of the fun and cool things we created.

The first thing that I'm excited to share is his name banner. Banners are all the craze at birthday parties, baby showers, and wedding showers.  I've made so many different banners throughout the years and this was one of my all time favorites.  At first I was struggling to find wood imaged paper that I liked.  Then I realized I had everything I needed to create it myself.  I used brown cardstock, a wooden embossing sleeve, and gold paint to create the banner tiles.  After I had the tiles set, the letters and embellishments just fell into place.  I really loved the way sweet little Jackson's name banner turned out.
I also made some yummy woodland treats...
 A yummy hedgehog cheeseball,
Ladybugs on a leaf, and birch sliced bread.

A friend of ours created these adorable cupcakes.  Every woodland themed shower needs some owls hooting about.
Believe it or not a second grade student baked this yummy, delicious, and adorable cake.
The shower was a huge success and the mommy to be was showered with love and surrounded by lots of woodland creatures.
~Happy Creating,
Michelle
